EA FC 27 Developers Address Key Gameplay Concerns in Latest Feedback Update - jiaolix - 16.10.2026

EA Sports has shared a new Launch Feedback Update for EA FC 27, responding to community concerns about defending, kick-off goals, interceptions, and shooting mechanics. The October 13 update outlines the areas developers are monitoring and investigating as players continue to adjust to the game following its worldwide release on September 25.

While the update does not confirm any new gameplay fixes, it offers players valuable insight into what EA is evaluating for potential changes. Manual Defending: A Deliberate Learning Curve

One of the biggest topics surrounding EA FC 27 since launch has been manual defending, with some players struggling to adapt to the updated mechanics. EA explained that its goal was to reward players for anticipation, positioning, and timing rather than relying heavily on automated defending.

However, the developer's internal match data suggests that players who have adapted to the new system are finding more success. "We're seeing a learning curve at play," EA explained, while acknowledging that adapting to the updated mechanics takes time. This indicates that the system is working as intended for those willing to put in the effort to master it.

Fullback Positioning: An Unintended Problem

Another concern involves fullbacks dropping too deep while defending, which can disrupt defensive formations and unintentionally keep opposing attackers onside. Unlike manual defending, which EA suggests involves a learning curve, the fullback positioning issue appears to be an unintended gameplay problem.

EA acknowledged the issue but explained that changing fullback positioning could affect overall gameplay balance. As a result, developers are being cautious about potential adjustments, weighing the benefits of a fix against the risk of unintended consequences elsewhere on the pitch.

Kick-Off Goals, Interceptions, and Shooting Under Review

Beyond defending, EA identified several additional gameplay concerns in its latest feedback update. According to the developer, the following areas are currently being monitored or investigated: These areas are particularly important in competitive modes, where defensive positioning and scoring opportunities can make the difference between victory and defeat. However, EA has not confirmed whether these concerns will result in gameplay adjustments.

Title Update 1.0.4 and What Comes Next

EA previously released Title Update 1.0.4 on October 7, which focused primarily on Career Mode, Ultimate Team, and The Grounds. That update addressed several Career Mode transfer issues, including negotiations and generated players, while also fixing an Ultimate Team Service Unavailable error. However, EA confirmed that version 1.0.4 did not include gameplay balance or tuning changes.

With the October 13 feedback update, players now have a clearer picture of the gameplay concerns developers are examining. Whether EA eventually adjusts defending, kick-off goals, or shooting mechanics remains to be seen, but the latest feedback update confirms these concerns are on the developer's radar.
