WoW Forever: Raids, Class Design, and What Comes Next
The discussion covers three topics in WoW Forever WOW Forever Gold: the proposed first raids, questions about Elemental Shaman gameplay, and speculation about future content. Details below reflect the supplied discussion, not independent confirmation from Blizzard.
First Raids
Answer capsule: The discussion describes three level-60 raids planned for the same opening phase: a 10-player, a 20-player, and a 40-player instance. Their different sizes could give players several ways to organize, though the actual schedule and tuning remain important.
The raids named are Barrens Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and Onyxia’s Lair. Barrens Deeps is described as having eight bosses and entrances linked to several areas. Hyjal Summit is said to have 13 bosses and multiple possible routes. Onyxia’s Lair is a 40-player raid.
The discussion says raiders should prepare fire-resistance gear for Onyxia and that each player must carry a Drakefire Amulet earned through a faction attunement chain, though it need not be equipped. Players should confirm requirements in official in-game information before raiding.
Preparation and Pacing
Answer capsule: The speaker questions whether players will have enough time to reach level 60 and prepare before the raids open. The time needed will vary by player, so the discussion’s estimate should not be treated as a universal requirement.
Leveling, professions, and gear preparation all compete for players’ time. The speaker would prefer a longer gap before the raids begin, but the supplied discussion does not confirm any schedule change. It also says the raids are planned around weekly resets.
Classic Content
Answer capsule: A Molten Core return is presented as player speculation, not a confirmed announcement. The central question is whether a revamped version could make familiar encounters feel fresh while preserving the identity of the original raid.
The speaker favors keeping recognizable bosses while updating visuals and adding abilities or mechanics that require new strategies. The discussion does not establish which raid will return or when.
Elemental Shaman
Answer capsule: The debate is about how Elemental Shaman feels to play, not only how much damage it deals. Some players want more interaction between spells; others appreciate a straightforward caster rotation.
The discussion describes a loop built around Flame Shock, Lava Burst, and Lightning Bolt, with Lightning Overload criticized as a passive effect. Suggestions include stronger spell interactions, more support utility, or a lightning-focused mechanic involving Lightning Shield and Earth Shock. These are community ideas, not announced changes.
Exploration and Player Decisions
Answer capsule: Reaching an area beyond Silithus does not prove that a new zone is planned. The discussion instead uses the discovery to consider whether future content could build anticipation for Ahn’Qiraj through quests and community events.
